Ibadan Travel & Tourism Expo (ITTE 2026) is set to host a stellar lineup of international and national dignitaries for its third edition, scheduled for April 21–22, 2026, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
This was made known in a press statement jointly signed by Ambassadors Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, the most famous twins in African Tourism, and conveners of the expo.
The event, themed "Tourism and Innovation: Expanding Frontiers for Inclusive Growth," promises to be a pivotal gathering for industry stakeholders.
Leading the charge will be Jamaica's Honourable Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, renowned for his expertise in tourism resilience.
He will be joined by Professor Zachariah Yaduma, Director-General of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), and Dr. Louis-Georges Tin, Prime Minister of the State of the African Diaspora (SOAD), highlighting the Expo's significant international and diaspora engagement.
The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, will serve as Chief Host, with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, acting as Royal Host, supported by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes.
Nigeria's Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, and Dr. Badaki Aliyu, National President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), are also expected to contribute valuable insights.
The two-day Expo will feature exhibitions from over 100 tourism brands, panel discussions, workshops, and high-level networking, anticipating over 3,000 participants.
A key innovation for ITTE 2026 is the introduction of free masterclasses and professional training sessions aimed at empowering youth and entrepreneurs in the evolving tourism landscape.
Conservation and academic institutions, including FRIN and the Nigeria National Park Service, will collaborate to foster discussions on sustainability and environmental education.
ITTE 2026 aims to solidify Ibadan's position as a leading hub for tourism dialogue and investment in West Africa, fostering collaboration between Africa, the Caribbean, and the global tourism community.
The Expo is convened by Ambassadors Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, "The Most Famous Twins in African Tourism," who signed the press statement.
