A social-cultural association based in the United Kingdom (UK), the Oluyole Progressive Union, over the weekend, hosted a grand reception amidst pomp and pageantry, marking its End-of-Year celebration.

The colourful reception, held at Denmark Hill Community Hall, Blanchedown Road, Camberwell London, SE5 8HL, was to thank God for the just concluded year 2025 and to celebrate achievements of members for the year, according to Alhaji Akeem Akinborode, the Association's President.

"We really thank God for the successful completion of the year 2025 and the abundant grace and success He has bestowed upon us in the course of the year," Akinborode noted, describing the commitment of all members as commendable.
Akinborode, a financial expert with Eminent Financial Ltd., also expressed his profound gratitude to everyone who, in one way or another, contributed to the success of the program either through their support or presence.

It was indeed a moment of undiluted fun and networking, as well as a display of the rich Yoruba culture and Ibadan heritage.

The event also featured food, drink, donations, and a raffle draw, as well as the launching of Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola's two new books: Giant Strides and Ibadan Hegemony. Alhaji Sulaiman Ajayi was the Chief Launcher.
Some of the A-list dignitaries who graced the beautiful occasion included HRH Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, the Balogun of Ibadanland; Chief (Barr.) Abdul Gafar Gbadamosi, Mogaji, Atere family of Ibadan; Chief (Alh.) Lukman Okedina, Mogaji of Ile Toki, Ayeye Ibadan; Chief Muili Oluwole Oladejo, Mogaji Agbon Omilabu; Chief Yinka Adeniran; amongst others.

Oluyole Progressive Union, one of the affiliated social-cultural clubs to the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), was formed in the year 2000.

Since its formation, it has been giving back to society, particularly to Ibadan descendants both home and abroad.
The Association is involved in many charity works, including the constant donations to Adeoyo Maternity Hospital, Ibadan.
