Fear and uncertainty have gripped the family of Ajibola Abidemi Arije, a man who reportedly disappeared in Ibadan after leaving home for work, with his whereabouts still unknown three days after he was last seen.
Arije was said to have left home on Friday, August 7, 2026, heading to work from the Dikat/Ajeigbe area of Ibadan, where he was reportedly last seen at about 7:27 a.m.
According to information provided by his family, Arije was driving a gold-coloured Nissan Primera and was expected to arrive at his office within 30 minutes.
His colleague reportedly confirmed that Arije had said he would be at the office within the stated period. However, he never arrived, and attempts to establish contact with him have so far proved unsuccessful.
Both mobile phones belonging to the missing man are reportedly switched off, adding to the growing concern over his whereabouts.
More puzzling for the family is the discovery of his vehicle at UMC, Oke-Ado, on the second day after his disappearance.

According to the family, the car was returned with its key, but no one has been able to establish who drove it there or who left it at the location.
Despite efforts by the family to locate him, including visits to a police station, no positive information about his whereabouts has emerged.
His wife, in an emotional appeal, described him as a gentle and calm man who would ordinarily not leave without informing her or someone close to him.
She said her husband had strong faith in Nigeria and had insisted on returning home, choosing Ibadan because he believed the city was peaceful and safe.
According to her, she had initially pleaded with him to remain away but eventually followed him back home, where he chose to settle in Ibadan.
“My husband believed so much in this country. He said there is no place like home. I begged him to let us stay back, but he insisted. I followed him back home and he chose Ibadan. My husband said Ibadan is peaceful and safe,” she said in the emotional appeal.
She has now turned to residents of Ibadan and members of the public for assistance, pleading with anyone who may have seen her husband or knows anything about his whereabouts to come forward.
“People of Ibadan, please help me look for my husband. Esanu mi. He is gentle and calm. It is day three already,” she pleaded.
Family members are appealing to anyone who may have information, no matter how insignificant it may appear, to share it with them or the relevant security authorities.
