Tinubu Taps Tegbe To Replace Adelabu As Power Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the new Minister of Power, pending Senate confirmation.

This move, announced by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, aims to supercharge power sector reforms, stabilize the grid, and draw crucial investments.

Tegbe's nomination follows the resignation of former minister Adebayo Adelabu, who departed for an elective office.

An Oyo State native, Tegbe brings over three decades of fiscal and economic reform expertise from both public and private sectors.

Notably, Tegbe was Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, spearheading fiscal policy and governance reforms.

He currently serves as Director General for the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, coordinating vital bilateral development.

His resume also includes significant experience with power sector regulatory bodies like NERC and NBET.

The President anticipates Tegbe's "extensive expertise" will drive "critical reforms and deliver improved outcomes for Nigerians in the power sector.
