The burial rites for late Barr. Olusegun Awolowo Jnr, the grandson of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, has been slated for December 1st, 3rd and 5th, 2025, in Lagos.
Awolowo, a former Executive Director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, and the only son of Princess Abah Folawiyo (Sisi Abah), a fashion icon, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 62 after a brief illness.
"With heavy hearts and gratitude to God for a life well-lived, the family of our beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather Mr. Olusegun Awolowo Jnr hereby announce his passing to Glory," a release by the family stated, describing the deceased as a generational legend.
According to the release, there will Night of Tributes at Harbour Point, Victory Island, Lagos on Monday 1st December, 2025 by 4:00pm. The color code for the event is White and Silver.
It was further stated that by Wednesday 3rd December a Christian Wake comes up at 4:00pm also at the earlier mentioned venue. Shades of Green is the color theme for the Christian Wake.
The deceased will finally be laid to rest on Friday, 5th December, 2025, after a Funeral Service at Our Saviour's Church, Ikoyi, Lagos.
