There is also a report of increase in the number of visitors coming to the town on a daily from from 1,604 to over 18,000, and significant growth in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by leveraging culture, sports, and a secure environment to attract tourists and investors, making Ibadan a prime destination for leisure and business.
Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, the Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, attributed the massive turnaround in the sector to the commitment of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde's special focus on developing the tourism sector and ensuring that it forms a key component of his economic expansion agenda.
This, he said, has yielded many positive results in the last two years, noting that with the government putting in place key tourism enablers such as road infrastructure, security and the political will as well as the creation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2023, the state has witnessed tremendous turnaround in the tourism sector.

BOWER'S TOWER
Bower's Tower is a historical landmark in Ibadan. The 60-foot tower is located on the top of Oke-Are Hill, and offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the ancient city. It was built in 1936 in honour of the first British resident in Nigeria, Captain Robert Lister Bower.

AGODI GARDENS

To create a festive, energetic atmosphere with activities for everyone—from kids to adults, art lovers to sports fans. It’s about giving the community an affordable, lively experience with non-stop excitement."
UI ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN
The University of Ibadan Zoological Garden is a walk on the wild side nestled within Nigeria's premier university, this zoo is a vibrant hub of biodiversity. It's not just about seeing animals; it's about experiencing a well-preserved natural habitat within an academic setting, a unique blend of learning and leisure. All these features are the reasons UI Zoological Garden is a great tourist spot for many visitors from both within and outside the country.
COCOA HOUSE
Cocoa House, once the tallest building in Africa, is a vertical testament to progress in the South West part of Nigeria.
