Ori-Aje Primary School, Odo Oba, Ibadan, came alive on Monday, April 13, 2026.
It was all about a prominent aspirant, Hon. (Alhaja) Sekinat Tolanikawo Adelakun-Akande (Eruobodo 1).
She visited Ibadan South East Local Government and also officially declared her intention to contest the Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency seat in 2027.
The turnout for the combined courtesy visit and official declaration was so massive. It had in attendance all the top echelons of the All Progressives Congress (APC) including Alhaji Musftaudeen Adisa Gbayawu; Chief Abolade Akinyemi (Kosigiri); Aare Abdulateef Oosa; Woman Leader; the Youth Leader, Adegbola Oritse; among others.
After the opening prayer by Alfa Agbaje and the introduction of party leaders, a popular Fuji music act, Bola Akanji Bolington took the centre stage with an electrifying performance that got the crowd wild.
This was also followed by performances of several other singers who all came to support ASTAA, as Alhaja Sekinat Tolanikawo Adelakun-Akande is popularly called within the political circle.
The event climaxed with the grand entrance of the aspirant, alongside her husband, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, while the performances were ongoing.
Their entrance really changed the atmosphere entirely as party loyalists showed enthusiasm and affirmed their support for ASTAA.
Of course, the show of love wasn't surprising. Alhaja Sekinat Tolanikawo Adelakun-Akande has been part and parcel of them. She is not new on the political scene in Ibadan. She is indeed a chip off the old block.
Her father, late Alhaji Busari Adelakun, wasn't only rich and famous but was also a very prominent political figure at both state and national levels.
He was one of those who played major roles in Action Group (AG), and later Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) during the First and Second republics respectively in Ibadan and Oyo State.

ASTAA Eruobodo 1, as she is popularly called, is the beautiful wife of the Ibadan-born Fuji icon, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere. She is a businesswoman, a philanthropist of note and a politician.
Her aspiration is driven by a strong compassion and determination to give hope to the hopeless in her constituency and beyond through community empowerment initiatives.
She is seeking to represent the Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027 under the umbrella of the APC.
Her campaign is focused on providing "dividends of democracy" to her constituency, with special attention on supporting women, youth empowerment, upgrading crumbling infrastructure, and providing inclusive, grassroots-focused leadership.
She is the founder of Care for Women and Girl Child International (CWGC), an organization focused on empowering women, assisting families, and supporting young girls.
These initiatives are what she has been pursuing long before venturing into politics, including supporting widows and providing educational support.
She holds a traditional title, Yeye Agbaakin Abobagunwa of Yoruba Land, reflecting her standing in the community.
