Ijesaland has been thrown into mourning following the death of renowned industrialist, philanthropist and business tycoon, Dame Eunice Olayinka Obaleye, MON, popularly known as Yinka Oba (Yinka Oba Foam).
The respected entrepreneur, who held the revered traditional title of Yeye Oba of Ijesaland, was widely celebrated for her remarkable contributions to indigenous manufacturing, entrepreneurship and community development.

Her outstanding contributions to the manufacturing sector earned her several recognitions, including honours from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.
In 1992, she received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration from Staton University, Florida. She was also conferred with the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), alongside several traditional and religious titles.
Despite enduring major setbacks, including the destruction of her factory by fire on multiple occasions and surviving a traumatic kidnapping in Osun State in 2013 that claimed the life of her driver, Dame Obaleye remained resilient, rebuilding her businesses and inspiring generations of entrepreneurs.
News of her passing has continued to attract tributes from business associates, community leaders and admirers, who remember her as an exceptional industrialist, mentor and philanthropist whose impact transcended commerce.
Her death marks the end of an era for Ijesaland and Nigeria’s indigenous manufacturing sector.
