CEO of Specialat Tie & Dye, Oluwatunmise Adesina, has added another feather to her cap after receiving an award of recognition from the Association of Family, Nutrition and Consumer Sciences Students (AFANCSS), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
The award was presented during the association’s 2026 Homecoming Conference, held on Thursday, July 24, 2026, at Obafemi Awolowo University.
According to the organisers, the award was in appreciation of Adesina’s outstanding contributions to the growth of the association and her inspiring leadership.
The occasion, which brought together students, alumni and distinguished guests to celebrate excellence, reconnect with graduates and inspire the next generation of professionals in the department, also underscored Adesina’s remarkable journey as one of Nigeria’s emerging entrepreneurs and youth empowerment advocates.

Expressing her appreciation after the honour, Adesina disclosed that unforeseen travel challenges almost prevented her from attending the event.
According to her, “African Time almost ruined my chance of gracing my home conference today, but thank you so much for this recognition. It feels good to be back home and to be honoured this way.”
Her emotional remarks reflected the significance of returning to the institution that shaped her academic journey and being celebrated by the students following in her footsteps.
Beyond entrepreneurship, she is also known as a public speaker, event host, business consultant and youth empowerment advocate committed to equipping young people with practical skills for self-reliance through her Specialat Empowers initiative.
