Mogaji Moshood Gbolagade Akere Beyioku has been reappointed as Chairman of the 2027 Ibadan Cultural Festival Week, a move widely seen as a reward for his outstanding leadership and the remarkable success recorded during the 2026 edition of the annual cultural celebration.
His appointment was formally announced during the August general assembly meeting of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), where the President-General of the umbrella body, Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole, presented the official appointment letter to the respected community leader amid applause from delegates and stakeholders.
CCII said the decision followed Akere’s exceptional commitment, organisational ability and unwavering dedication to delivering a memorable 2026 festival, which attracted widespread commendation for promoting Ibadan’s rich cultural heritage, unity and community development.
