Sanusi Mourns Dr. Margret Yorhomeh, Says Her Death Leaves ‘Painful Void’

Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Chairman and CEO of Ilaji Hotels & Sports Resort, has mourned the death of his beloved in-law, Dr. Margret Yorhomeh, describing her passing as a deeply painful loss that has left an enduring void in the hearts of her family and loved ones.

Dr. Yorhomeh died on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the age of 64.

In a heartfelt tribute, Sanusi said her death was a significant loss to him, the Sanusi dynasty, the entire Ilaji family, and, most importantly, her children and loved ones.

He described the deceased as a woman of dignity, warmth, wisdom, compassion and remarkable strength, whose influence extended far beyond her immediate family.

According to him, Dr. Yorhomeh was not merely a mother but also a source of love, guidance and comfort to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

While consoling her children, Martins and Richard, Sanusi, who is also the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, prayed to God to give them the strength to cope with the loss of their beloved mother.

He urged them to draw strength from the beautiful memories of her love, sacrifices and kindness, saying those memories would remain a source of courage during the difficult period.

“Her passing has created a void that words cannot adequately express,” Sanusi said, while acknowledging the pain of her departure and expressing gratitude to Almighty God for the life she lived, the people she raised and the love she shared.

He also prayed for the forgiveness of her shortcomings and for God to grant her eternal rest in His everlasting embrace.

Sanusi described Dr. Yorhomeh’s departure as the end of her earthly journey, but stressed that her love and memories would continue to live in the hearts of those she left behind.

“Dear mama, your journey on earth has ended, but your love will continue to live in our hearts. You will be remembered, you will be honoured, and you will never be forgotten,” he said.

He concluded the emotional tribute with a prayer for her peaceful rest, saying: “Rest peacefully, Dr. Margret Yorhomeh. Until we meet again, may your beautiful soul rest in perfect peace.”
