Popular Yoruba actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has reportedly remarried, exchanging vows with his longtime partner, Tayo Sanusi, popularly known as Maimunat, in a private ceremony in Lagos.
Adebayo, who was also serving as Special Assistant on Arts and Tourism to the Kwara State Governor at the time, reportedly held the marriage ceremony on Thursday in the Ikeja area of Lagos.
The ceremony was said to have been deliberately kept low-key, with only close family members and a few invited guests in attendance.
Explaining the decision to keep the occasion private, the actor reportedly took to his Instagram page, @femiadebayosalami, to offer an explanation to his followers.
The marriage marks a new chapter for Adebayo, whose previous marriage to Khadijat ended several years earlier.
The former couple had three children together, while Khadijat has since moved on and reportedly remarried.
Before his latest marriage, Adebayo had been the subject of considerable media attention over his personal life, with his relationships occasionally becoming topics of discussion within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Following news of his private wedding, social media was awash with speculation about the actor’s new relationship, with several unverified claims emerging about his past romantic associations.
Some reports alleged that certain women previously linked romantically with the actor were unhappy about his decision to settle down, although there was no independent confirmation of such claims.
Other reports also sought to portray Sanusi as someone who had previously been romantically linked with personalities in the entertainment industry.
One of the claims making the rounds linked her to Nigerian singer 9ice, although the allegation was not independently established at the time.
Despite the speculation surrounding his personal life, Adebayo appeared focused on his new beginning, choosing to celebrate the marriage privately rather than make it a major public event.
