TUNS Farms Wins KFC Award For Food Safety, Quality

TUNS Farms Nigeria Limited has emerged as the overall best performer in food safety and quality systems audit conducted by Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Nigeria.

The company received the recognition at KFC Nigeria’s Supplier Recognition Forum held on October 4, 2016, an event organised to appreciate suppliers for their continued partnership and contribution to the fast-food chain’s operations.

The forum brought together stakeholders and suppliers who have maintained business relationships with KFC, providing an opportunity to recognise companies that distinguished themselves in service delivery, quality and food safety.

TUNS Farms was particularly recognised for its performance in meeting food safety and quality standards required by KFC.

Presenting the award, KFC/YUM Quality Assurance Manager for Africa, Mr Sanjay Narsee, commended TUNS Farms for its performance and urged the company to maintain its standards.

Narsee encouraged the company not to relent in its efforts to ensure consistent quality, reliable supply and effective service delivery.

He said maintaining high standards was essential to sustaining the confidence of consumers and strengthening the relationship between KFC and its suppliers.

KFC, a globally recognised fast-food restaurant chain headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, specialises in fried chicken and operates in several countries around the world.

At the time, the restaurant chain had more than 35 outlets across Nigeria, offering its popular chicken meals alongside selected menu options adapted to the Nigerian market.

The recognition of TUNS Farms underscored the growing importance of food safety, quality control and dependable supply chains within Nigeria’s fast-food and agricultural value chain.
