Eight years after the death of his mother, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pleasant Design Concept Limited (PDCL), Arch. Sola Omotoso, has paid tribute to her, recalling the enduring impact of her love, guidance and sacrifices on his life.
Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Dada Omotoso, JP (née Allen), the Akorewolu of Usi-Ekiti, died in 2017 at the age of 69.
Since her passing, Omotoso has continued to honour his mother on significant anniversaries, particularly her birthday and the anniversary of her death.
Marking the eighth anniversary of her passing, Omotoso shared photographs of his late mother on his WhatsApp status on Tuesday, describing her as a “relentless warrior” and reflecting on the pain of losing her.
In an emotional tribute, he wrote:
“Eight years ago, the heavens gained a rare gem — our mother, our matriarch, Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Dada Omotoso.
“Time, they say, heals wounds. But this particular pain remains raw, heavy and unrelenting. Your departure is still too shocking to accept, too sad to embrace and far too bitter to swallow.
“You were more than a mother to me — you were my confidant, my unwavering supporter, my relentless prayer warrior and truly the Commander-in-Chief of the ‘Abiyamos.’ Your strength and grace in motherhood continue to guide us even today.
“You embodied sacrifice, commitment and love, giving yourself fully and selflessly to each of us. Your nurturing was tender yet firm, wise and always present.
“Your legacy lives on in the choices we make, the values we uphold and the love that continues to flow in our family because of the seeds you planted. Though we strive to move forward, your absence remains a void that no one can fill.
“We miss you every day. We carry your memory like a precious torch — burning and glowing, reminding us of the woman who gave us everything.
“Rest peacefully in the arms of your Creator, Mama. You will never be forgotten.
“Adieu, Mama mi.

A Mother’s Lasting Influence
Reflecting on his mother’s influence over the years, Omotoso has often acknowledged the role her upbringing, guidance and values played in shaping his life and family.
An architect and entrepreneur, he is the Chairman and CEO of Pleasant Design Concept Limited, while also serving as Chief Executive Officer of AMT Technology Services, a company involved in representing original equipment manufacturers within the telecommunications and information technology sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa.
For Omotoso, however, the anniversary was less about his professional accomplishments and more about remembering the woman whose sacrifices, prayers and values helped shape the man he became.
Eight years after her passing, the memories of Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Dada Omotoso remain a significant part of his reflections on family, motherhood and the enduring influence of a parent.
