The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned the former Managing Director of Buffah S.K. & Co. Limited, Musa Saidu Koki, also known as Alhaji Baffa, before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi, Abuja, over an alleged N108.07 million land fraud.
Koki was docked on Tuesday before Justice F. E. Messiri on a five-count charge bordering on advance fee fraud and obtaining money under false pretences.
According to the EFCC, the defendant allegedly deceived individuals and a real estate company into believing he was the beneficial owner of a parcel of land located at Plot 526, Cadastral Zone CO4, Guzape, Abuja, and collected various sums running into N108,068,500.
The anti-graft agency alleged that in one of the transactions, Koki obtained N7 million from one Justice Enenche as an agency fee after purportedly entering into a joint venture agreement for the development of the property.
The Commission further accused him of inducing Voice Real Estate Limited into a joint venture agreement over the same property, allegedly collecting N97.57 million while falsely claiming the land was free from encumbrances.
The EFCC told the court that investigations revealed the land was allegedly owned by former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, contrary to the representations made by the defendant.
Koki pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Following his plea, prosecuting counsel, F. O. Dibang, requested a trial date and urged the court to remand the defendant at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending trial.

Defence counsel, T. Tonye, however, appealed to the court to allow his client remain on the administrative bail earlier granted by the EFCC.
Although the prosecution opposed the request, Justice Messiri ordered that the defendant should continue to enjoy the existing administrative bail.

The court also directed him to submit copies of his National Identification Number (NIN) slip and Bank Verification Number (BVN) to the court registrar.
The case was adjourned until July 29, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
The EFCC said the prosecution forms part of its sustained efforts to tackle alleged property-related fraud and advance fee scams across the country.
