Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker at the forthcoming National Civic Engagement Summit organised by the Oduduwa Charity, Humanitarian, Intellectual and Academic Foundation (OCHIAAF).
The summit is scheduled to hold on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the T.O. Ogunlesi Hall, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
With the theme, “The People as the Government: The Role of Indigenous Civic Organisations in Governance and Nation Building,” the gathering is expected to attract policymakers, traditional rulers, academics, civil society organisations, community leaders, professionals and youth groups from across the country.
Organisers said the summit is designed to stimulate meaningful conversations on the role of indigenous civic organisations in deepening democratic governance, strengthening community participation and advancing sustainable national development.
As keynote speaker, Alli, who currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is expected to deliver an address highlighting the importance of grassroots engagement, inclusive leadership and the strategic role of indigenous institutions in fostering accountable governance and nation-building.
