Mogaji Wole Arisekola Celebrates Olubadan At 82, Hails One Year Of Royal Stewardship

The publisher of The Street Journal, businessman, philanthropist and Mogaji Ajenigieye of Oje, Ibadan, Chief ‘Bowale Oluwole Arisekola, has felicitated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, on his 82nd birthday and first anniversary on the historic throne of Ibadanland.

Arisekola, who has recently been nominated for elevation to the prestigious position of Jagun Olubadan, described the twin milestones as remarkable occasions to celebrate the monarch’s life, wisdom, experience and distinguished service to Ibadanland.

In a heartfelt congratulatory message, the prominent Ibadan businessman expressed gratitude to Almighty God for preserving the life of Oba Ladoja and allowing him to attain the age of 82 while also completing his first year as the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

According to Arisekola, the significance of September 25 and 26 extends beyond birthday and coronation anniversary celebrations, as the dates offer an opportunity to reflect on the enduring values of leadership, tradition, service and responsibility embodied by the Olubadan institution.

He said the Olubadan’s 82nd birthday represents a remarkable journey enriched by experience and service, while the first anniversary of his reign provides another milestone in the continuing history of one of Nigeria’s most respected traditional institutions.

“On the occasion of Your Imperial Majesty’s 82nd Birthday Anniversary and the celebration of One Year on the Throne, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and warmest felicitations to Your Imperial Majesty,” Arisekola stated.

He expressed appreciation to Almighty God for what he described as the gift of the monarch’s life, wisdom, experience and distinguished service to Ibadanland, while praying that the Olubadan would continue to enjoy divine grace and strength in the years ahead.

Arisekola further prayed for sound health, abundant wisdom, strength and longevity for the monarch, stressing that the years ahead should bring even greater opportunities for Oba Ladoja to contribute to the peace, unity and development of Ibadanland.

“May Almighty God continue to grant Your Imperial Majesty sound health, abundant wisdom, strength and longevity, and may your reign be marked by peace, progress, unity and enduring legacies for Ibadanland and generations yet unborn,” he prayed.

For Arisekola, the celebration is also a moment to honour the historical importance of the Olubadan throne and the cultural heritage it represents.

His own traditional journey has taken another significant step following his nomination by Oba Ladoja for the position of Jagun Olubadan, placing him on the recognised traditional ladder of Ibadanland.

The nomination has added another dimension to Arisekola’s relationship with the traditional institution, coming years after he was installed as Mogaji Ajenigieye of Yemetu-Oje, Ibadan, in 2021.

His message to the Olubadan therefore carries the voice of both a prominent Ibadan son and a traditional title holder whose own journey is increasingly intertwined with the historic chieftaincy institution.

As Oba Ladoja marks 82 years of life today and completes one year on the throne tomorrow, Arisekola joined other well-wishers in wishing the monarch many more glorious years, praying that his reign will leave behind a lasting legacy of peace, progress and unity.

“Congratulations and many more glorious years, Kabiyesi!” Arisekola concluded.
