A new chapter has opened in the traditional institution of Adanla Kingdom in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State following the appointment of Hameed-Adanla Yahya as the Olori Omo Oba of the kingdom.

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter dated September 18, 2026, signed by Alhaji Oladimeji Abdullahi Hammed Adanla, Baale of Adanla, Ido Local Government, on behalf of himself and chiefs of the kingdom.

Described in the letter as a “deserving” honour, the appointment reflects the confidence reposed in Hameed Adanla within the traditional structure and community of Adanla Kingdom.

In the letter, the Baale congratulated the appointee while formally communicating his elevation to the newly designated traditional position.

The letter, addressed to Yahya in Ibadan, read in part: “This is to appoint you as the Olori Omo Oba of Adanla Kingdom, Ido Local Government.”

The appointment adds another layer to the traditional and community leadership structure of Adanla Kingdom, which continues to recognise individuals considered worthy of contributing to the development, unity and progress of the community.

Hameed-Adanla Yahya is expected to bring his experience, community spirit and commitment to the responsibilities associated with the new position as he assumes his role within the traditional institution.

The development has also underscored the importance attached to traditional titles and community leadership in strengthening the bond between the palace, chiefs and members of the wider Adanla community.
