Ibadan club acknowledges supporters’ frustration over poor results, appeals for patience as management insists offenders could face prosecutionShooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has warned supporters against violence, threats, intimidation and verbal or physical abuse directed at the club’s management, technical crew and players following a disappointing start of the season.
The Ibadan-based Nigeria Premier Football League side issued the warning in a statement signed by the club’s management on Friday, acknowledging growing concerns and disappointment among supporters over the team’s recent results.
While appealing for patience and continued support, the club declared that it would not tolerate any form of abusive or violent conduct against members of its football family, regardless of their positions.
Management specifically listed the Executive Chairman, Sporting Director, Technical Adviser, coaches, technical staff, players and other club personnel among those to be protected from threats, intimidation and abuse.
3SC Threatens Immediate Ban, Possible Prosecution
As part of measures to address the situation, Shooting Stars warned that supporters found engaging in abusive or violent conduct would face an immediate ban from attending the club’s matches.
The management added that offenders could also be referred to the appropriate authorities for prosecution, stressing that supporters must express their grievances responsibly and within the confines of the law.
The statement comes amid dissatisfaction over the team’s recent performances, with management admitting that the results recorded so far have fallen short of expectations.
“We acknowledge that this is not the start we envisaged, nor the results expected by management and our supporters,” the club stated.
Despite the disappointing performances, the management expressed appreciation for the loyalty and commitment of fans who continue to support the team both at home and away.
It appealed to supporters to remain calm and patient while the club works towards restoring its winning form.
Club Seeks Unity Amid Disappointing Results
Reassuring supporters that the campaign is far from over, Shooting Stars maintained that there was still sufficient time to improve its performances, noting that the season remained young.
Management urged fans, players and other stakeholders to remain united during the challenging period, expressing confidence that the team could recover from its current difficulties.
“This is a challenging period, but the season is still young, and there is much to play for,” the statement added.
The club further called on the entire Shooting Stars family to stay positive and continue supporting the team, expressing optimism that collective commitment would help restore its fortunes.
“Together, we will turn this around,” the management declared.
The warning underscores the club’s determination to address supporters’ concerns while maintaining order and protecting its officials and players as it seeks to improve results in the ongoing campaign.
