The family of former Presidential spokesperson to former Presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, Dr Doyin Okupe, has unveiled burial arrangements for him.
Following his death on the 7th March, 2025, the Agbonmagbe Okupe family and the entire Iperu-Remo community in Ikenne Local Government area of Ogun State were thrown into deep mourning.
Okupe, a physician and co-founder of Royal Cross Medical Centre, passed away at the age of 72.
However, family has disclosed that his burial will hold between 22 and 28 of March, 2025.
The burial ceremony commences with a commendation service on Saturday, 22 March, 2025 at RCCG, City of David, Plot 414 Augustus Aikhomu Way, Beside Blooming Hills Int. Academy, Utako, Abuja.
On Thursday March 27, service of songs and tributes will hold at Trinity House, By Water Corporation Drive, Off Ligali Ayorinde Street, VI, Lagos. Christian Wake Keep comes up later same day at Agbonmagbe Castle, Sagamu-Iperu Road, Ogun State.
There will be lying in state in the morning of Friday, 28 March also at Agbonmagbe Castle, before the funeral service at Methodist Church, Akesan Road, Iperu, Ogun State. Reception follows immediately after at the Christ Apostolic School Hall, Akesan Road, Iperu.
Dr. Doyin Okupe Okupe was Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Olusegun Obasanjo and Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan.
He was also a former Director-General of Peter Obi’s 2023 Presidential Campaign, and a former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State.
