Popular Ibadan Industrialist, Lamidi Ajadi Dies At 89


Death has been announced of Alhaji Lamidi Ajadi, a foremost business mogul and socialite.

Ajadi, trendscopenews.com.ng gathered, passed away today after a brief illness. He was aged 89.

Fondly called 'Alapa Faari' on the social scene, Alhaji Lamidi Ajadi, no doubt, lived a fulfilled life.

PHe was born in Ibadan on April 5, 1936 to the family of Alhaji Lawal Akanni Akintola of Ogunyinka Compound, Oke-Ado, Ibadan and Alhaja Salamotu Lawal Akintola of Oga Compound (now Onikete Compound), Ile-Tuntun, Oke-Eleta, Ibadan.

Ajadi, in his lifetime, was a successful businessman whose business interests cut across automotive, tyres, heavy duty machinery spare parts, real estate and hospitality.

He was also a philanthropist, and one of the most stylish men in the Ibadan social establishment.

He was a popular figure on the social scene and a toast of many big musicians, especially late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (who was his close friend).
