Aderemi Oseni Officially Declares For Oyo South Senatorial Seat

Hon. Aderemi Oseni has officially declared to run for Oyo South Senatorial seat in 2027. He made the declaration in a grand style on Sunday, April 26th, 2026.

The declaration was held at the Ibadan Recreation Centre Grounds, Sabo, Ibadan. It had in attendance party leaders, stakeholders, different groups as well as supporters and members of his political structure, the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF).

Oseni, representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, will be contesting the seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at the declaration, Oseni assured his political admirers of securing the party’s ticket and victory at the general elections.

He noted that his decision followed wide consultations across the senatorial district, and a strong conviction of acceptance and widespread support among party leaders and supporters.

“Having served diligently as your representative, I stand before you today ready to serve more. My ambition is not a departure from service, but a continuation of it,” the lawmaker noted.

Oseni stated that his political journey had always been anchored on sacrifice, purpose and responsibility, stressing that leadership should be measured by service rather than position.

‎He highlighted his stewardship in the House of Representatives which included facilitating of roads, schools, hospitals, bridges and streetlights across communities in his constituency.

‎He added that he had also supported education through sponsorship of students for WAEC and JAMB examinations, scholarships and payment of school fees for indigent students.

‎According to him, his empowerment programmes had benefited traders, artisans and market women, while over 30 youths had been transformed into millionaires through various intervention schemes.

Oseni, who is Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency, said he had sponsored motions on improved road maintenance funding and advocated free treatment for cancer and kidney patients among others.

‎He also disclosed that he had pushed for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ido, describing healthcare access as a major priority of his public service agenda.

‎Speaking on his plans for Oyo South, Oseni said he would prioritise quality representation, education, healthcare, youth development, job creation and attraction of federal projects to the district.

He said, “My concept of empowerment goes beyond the distribution of tricycles, motorcycles and generators. True empowerment must build capacity, encourage innovation and create sustainable wealth.”

‎Reaffirming loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, Oseni declared that the President’s re-election in 2027 remained his ultimate political project, adding that his supporters were already mobilising across Oyo State for the APC.

‎He appealed for unity within the party, urging members to place collective interest above personal ambition in order to reclaim power in Oyo State and secure victory for all APC candidates in the next general elections.

Earlier in his remarks, Barr. Sarafadeen Alli, the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, urged party members and stakeholders to support Oseni, describing him as a committed party man with strong grassroots appeal.

‎“Oseni has shown capacity and dedication in his current role. I encourage party faithful and the people of Oyo South to support him as he seeks to serve at a higher level,”he stated.

Alli, who is also a leading governorship aspirant in Oyo APC, restated his readiness and that of other leaders in Oyo APC to deliver the state for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and also win the state for the party in 2027.

Oseni's academic journey began at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, where he studied Civil Engineering in 1990. He also obtained a master’s degree in Structural Engineering with Distinction from the prestigious University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

Throughout his career, Oseni has been instrumental in the design and construction of a broad range of civil engineering projects nationwide.

His contributions include significant roles within the Oyo State Ministry of Works and Housing and the Enugu State Ministry of Works and Housing.

Notably, he was involved in the design of the 80-meter span Nyaba River Bridge in Enugu and the Ebonyi River Bridge at Abakaliki, as well as various projects with Consultants Limited.

His diverse work experience spans several key organizations. At Ace Hi-tech Construction Company Limited, he contributed to major construction projects such as the Princess Spring Water Factory at Agbara and the Five Star FCA Resort Hotel in Delta State.

He also played a role in the implementation of layout and realization of Toyo Glass (CMB) Power House equipment through his work with Sevan (Nigeria) Limited in conjunction with Overups and Partners. Currently, Hon. Oseni oversees all design and construction activities at Step Development Limited.

A committed professional, Oseni holds memberships in several esteemed engineering bodies, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE) and is a registered member of The Council for The Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

His international affiliations include membership in the London Institute of Engineers and Technicians, the Nigeria Association of Technological Engineers, and the Engineering Council of London. His dedication to service was also recognized early in his career as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Award Winner.
