President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Major General Adeyinka A. Fadewa (Rtd) as his Special Adviser on Homeland Security.
The appointment, announced on Monday, by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, underscores the administration's commitment to bolstering internal security.
The circular, signed by Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and issued by Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, Permanent Secretary General Services Office, highlights Major General Fadewa's "exceptional record of service, strategic expertise, and outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s national security architecture."
Major General Fadewa brings over three decades of distinguished military and intelligence service, with expertise in national security strategy, intelligence fusion, and counter-terrorism.

His past roles include serving as Principal General Staff Officer to the National Security Adviser, where he established the Intelligence Fusion Centre (IFC) to enhance inter-agency intelligence coordination.
After retirement, he continued to contribute to security reform as a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre.
