The House of Oduduwa has announced the funeral arrangements for the late Prince Adetunji Adeyemi Adisa Ogunwusi, the elder brother of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
Prince Adetunji, who was born on December 8, 1967, passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 58, leaving behind a grieving royal family and a wide circle of friends, associates and admirers across Nigeria.
His passing has been described as a profound loss to the Ogunwusi royal family and the ancient kingdom of Ile-Ife, where he was widely respected as a prominent prince of the House of Oduduwa.
According to the official funeral programme released by the family, a Service of Songs will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Ojaja Arena, Ile-Ife Grand Resort, Ile-Ife/Ibadan Expressway, Ile-Ife, Osun State. Guests are expected to be dressed in all white.

A Funeral Service will follow on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Ayegbaju, Ile-Ife, Osun State with attendees requested to wear purple and white.
Interment will take place immediately after the church service at the late prince’s residence in Ile-Ife.
In the announcement, the House of Oduduwa invited relatives, friends, associates and well-wishers to join the Ogunwusi family in celebrating the remarkable life and enduring legacy of the late prince through the scheduled Service of Songs, Funeral Service and Interment.
As the elder brother of the Ooni of Ife, Prince Adetunji occupied a cherished place within one of Yoruba’s foremost royal families.
His death has continued to attract sympathy and condolences from traditional rulers, community leaders, dignitaries and members of the public.
