Members of the Unity Schools Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (USOSAN) are set to converge on Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, for the association’s inaugural fitness walk.
The programme is expected to bring together old students of Unity Schools, particularly members based in Ibadan, popularly known as the ‘City of Brown Roofs,’ for a morning dedicated to fitness, health and camaraderie.
According to a representative of the association, Dr Chisom Fajimi, the initiative is designed to promote healthy living among members while providing an opportunity for them to reconnect outside their usual engagements.
Fajimi said the programme would feature aerobics, a health walk, health talks and practical wellness tips, describing the event as part of USOSAN’s broader commitment to the wellbeing of its members.
“We organised the fitness walk as part of our plans to ensure that our members are in top conditions of health. We believe that it is good for us to take positive steps towards a healthier lifestyle.
“We are also glad that all our members are enthusiastically awaiting the day.”
Participants are expected to assemble at the Ibadan Recreation Club, Sabo, by 8:00 a.m., where activities will commence.
Fajimi disclosed that adequate arrangements had been concluded to ensure a safe and successful outing, including security personnel and healthcare officials, while a designated route for the walk has also been mapped out.
Participants are expected to appear in a white T-shirt paired with blue or black jeans as the official dress code for the exercise.
Beyond promoting physical fitness, organisers said the gathering would strengthen friendship, unity and networking among members of the old students’ association.
USOSAN is also inviting members, friends and well-wishers to support the initiative through donations, which organisers said would help make the inaugural edition more memorable.
With enthusiasm already building among members, Saturday’s event is expected to combine fitness with the spirit of reunion that has long defined the Unity Schools old students’ community.
