Oyo Ex-Gov Dr. Omololu Olunloyo’s Family Rift Deepens As Daughter, Younger Wife Trade Allegations

A fresh family dispute involving former Oyo State Governor, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, has taken a dramatic turn, with his daughter, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, and his younger wife, Ronke Olunloyo, exchanging allegations over the welfare and affairs of the former governor.

The controversy began in the early hours of yesterday when Kemi took to Twitter to allege that she had confronted her father over plans to evict her, her sibling and their mother from the family’s Molete residence.

In a series of posts, Kemi claimed that her father was in possession of all the keys to the house, including the key to the generating set, and alleged that she had restrained him temporarily in an attempt to retrieve them.

About 30 minutes later, she posted again, claiming that she had succeeded in retrieving the keys from her father.

Kemi subsequently turned her attention to Ronke, accusing her of keeping the former governor at his Felele residence and alleging that she had emptied his bank account before travelling to Lagos.

She also made further allegations concerning Ronke’s relationship with her father and claimed that she had taken him to places she described as ritual centres in Ijebu and Ibadan.
Ronke, however, has strongly denied the allegations and fired back at Kemi during a telephone interview with City People Online.

According to Ronke, the disagreement stems largely from Kemi’s expectation that her father should continue to provide for her financially despite his health challenges.

“Kemi wants her father to pick up all her bills despite knowing he is ill,” Ronke was quoted as saying.

She further alleged that Kemi and her mother had previously administered drugs to the former governor and taken money intended for his overseas medical treatment. Ronke claimed the incident almost resulted in his death.

“That’s the cause of this problem,” she said, adding that the allegations against her were part of an attempt to discredit the former governor.

Ronke also rejected Kemi’s allegations concerning her own conduct, saying she had tried to assist her and recently helped her secure employment so that she could become financially independent.

She further referred to some of Kemi’s earlier social media posts, claiming that they contained statements that contradicted some of her present allegations.

According to Ronke, she had no interest in being involved in Kemi’s personal affairs and had only intervened out of concern for the family.

“I have always tried to help her. I have no business with her life. I am living my own life quietly in my house,” she said.

On the allegation that she had abandoned her husband, Ronke dismissed the claim, explaining that she had travelled to Lagos for three days because of property-related matters.

“I am in Ibadan as I speak to you. My husband is right here with me. I never abandoned my husband. I went to Lagos for three days, with my husband’s permission, because I have property there. I have been back in Ibadan since then,” she said.

The dispute escalated further after Kemi reportedly became aware of Ronke’s interview.

In subsequent social media posts, Kemi made additional allegations against Ronke and disputed her description as her father’s wife.

Kemi alleged that Ronke was not legally married to her father and claimed that she had evidence to support her accusations. She also accused Ronke of introducing her father to places she described as ritual centres.

In one of the posts, Kemi said she had received inquiries from friends in the United States and Canada concerning allegations of blood rituals within the family.

She subsequently named Ronke and her grandmother while making further allegations about alleged ritual practices within the family.

Kemi also disputed Ronke’s earlier claims concerning an alleged attempt to poison her father and steal money meant for his medical treatment, saying she had what she described as “damaging audios” relating to the matter.

She further alleged that Ronke had once taken her son to one of the locations she mentioned when he visited Nigeria during the 1990s.

The allegations exchanged by the two women have not been independently established, and both sides have presented sharply different accounts of the events surrounding Dr. Olunloyo and his family.

The dispute has consequently opened a new chapter in the long-running family disagreements surrounding the former governor, with attention now focused on the welfare of the elderly statesman and the increasingly public nature of the allegations being exchanged by members of his family.
