Hard work, dedication and a commitment to developing technology across Africa have earned international businessman Mahmood Ahmadu the Nigerian Economic Development Award.
The award was presented to Ahmadu in London on April 5, 2016, in recognition of his achievements in developing one of Africa’s leading technology companies and successfully expanding his business operations to more than 17 international locations across 10 different time zones.
Ahmadu received the honour at the International Strategic Alliance Committee (ISAC) conference, which was held on April 4 and 5, 2016, at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, London.
The special conference, titled the Nigerian Mining & Agriculture Investment Summit, attracted prominent local and international investors, entrepreneurs and business leaders interested in opportunities within Nigeria’s mining and agricultural sectors.
The sectors had attracted increased attention at the time as Nigeria sought to diversify its economy and reduce its traditional dependence on crude oil.
At the conclusion of the conference, ISAC hosted a gala dinner to recognise individuals who had made notable contributions to national development.
Ahmadu was among those honoured during the ceremony.
His Nigerian Economic Development Award was presented by the Israeli Deputy Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mr Eitan Na’eh.
Receiving the award, an elated Ahmadu expressed appreciation to the organisers of the conference for recognising his contributions and honouring him with the prestigious award.
The recognition further highlighted his growing profile as an entrepreneur and businessman with interests extending beyond Nigeria into the international business community.
