Loburo Area CDC Set for Official Certification in Ogun

The Loburo Area Community Development Committee (CDC) is set to receive its official Certificate of Recognition at a ceremony scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 2016.

The event, expected to attract government officials, traditional rulers and other prominent guests, will take place at the palace ground of the Olu-Igbein, off Redemption Road, Loburo, Ogun State.

Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives in Ogun State, Hon. Gbenga Francis Adenmosu, is expected to attend as the Special Guest of Honour.

The Royal Father of the Day will be His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Festus Oluwole Makinde (Lisoyi I), the Olu of Igbein Land.

Permanent Secretaries and Directors from the Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, the Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, council officials, executives of other Area Community Development Committees and several stakeholders are also expected at the ceremony.

Loburo Area CDC was formerly under the Ofada Area Community Development Committee, which was chaired by Engr. Gboyega Adeleke.

However, the need to promote development and bring community-based initiatives closer to residents led to the creation of the Loburo Area CDC.

The initiative gained momentum in November 2015 under the pro tem leadership of Elder Oluwadahunsi Oludare, eventually paving the way for its official recognition by the state government.

With 45 Community Development Associations (CDAs) under its supervision, Loburo Area CDC has received approval from the Ogun State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives.

The registered CDAs are actively contributing to the development of their respective communities through various grassroots initiatives and development projects.

The official presentation of the certificate is expected to mark another milestone in the committee’s efforts to strengthen community development and foster greater collaboration between residents and government authorities.
