The death has been announced of Alhaja Victoria Abebi Fagbemi, grandmother of Ibadan-born property developer and Mogaji of Agunleyinju Compound, Chief Akin Fagbemi.
Alhaja Fagbemi, who was also known as Mama Victoria Abebi Fagbemi, was reported to have died on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the age of 105.
A Christian wake-keep in her honour was scheduled to hold on Sunday, July 9, at Okutoro Agunleyinju Compound, Alekuso, Ibadan.
Her final burial was scheduled for Monday, July 10, 2017, at the same venue.
Born Victoria Abebi Fagbemi, née Aare Ago, the deceased was remembered by family members and those who knew her as a hardworking, kind-hearted and business-minded woman.
She was also described as an accommodating and caring person who extended her support beyond her immediate family, reportedly helping to train and raise several people during her lifetime.
Despite her warm disposition, she was said to have been a disciplined woman who valued hard work and good conduct.
She was survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who mourned her passing while celebrating the long life she lived.
