Technical University Ibadan Gets New PRO

The Technical University, Ibadan, has appointed Ibadan-born journalist, Oluwole Adejumo, as its new Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Adejumo’s appointment follows the exit of the university’s former PRO, Mr. Ademola Adesola, who reportedly left the institution to further his education in Canada.

The new PRO is a seasoned journalist with experience spanning print and digital media. Before his appointment, he was a Contributing Editor with Parrot Xtra Magazine, where he continued to contribute to the development of the publication.

Adejumo previously worked with City People Magazine as a Senior Correspondent between 2003 and 2008, covering a wide range of stories and personalities during his time with the publication.

He later joined The Street Journal, where he served as Editor and became the magazine’s first Online Editor, a position he held until 2014.

Beyond journalism, Adejumo has an academic background in the humanities and social sciences.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and a Master’s degree in Social Work, both from the University of Ibadan.

His appointment is expected to strengthen the university’s public communication and media relations as the institution continues to expand its academic and institutional profile.

The appointment is expected to be formally announced by the university in due course.
