Saraki, David Mark To Facilitate Total Reconciliation In Osun PDP — Adagunodo

Osun state chairman of the Peoples The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured members that the national and state leadership of the party would continue efforts to reconcile its various interests ahead of the September 2018 governorship election.

The state chairman of the party, Hon. Soji Adagunodo, gave the assurance in a statement personally signed and issued in Osogbo.

According to Adagunodo, Senate President at the time, Senator Bukola Saraki, had undertaken to visit Osun State to facilitate an all-inclusive reconciliation process aimed at bringing party members together ahead of the election.

“The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, has undertaken to come to Osun State in order to facilitate an all-encompassing reconciliation of party members and ensure that PDP goes into September election as one indivisible unit,” Adagunodo said.

He added that former Senate President, Senator David Mark, would also visit the state as part of efforts to ensure that different interests within the party were accommodated in elective and appointive positions.

Adagunodo appealed to aggrieved members to remain patient and urged those who had instituted court cases over issues within the party to consider withdrawing them in the interest of reconciliation.

The PDP chairman noted that litigation should be regarded as a last resort in resolving internal party disputes, adding that the party’s constitution contained provisions discouraging members from taking internal matters to court without exhausting available party mechanisms.

He further assured members that the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was willing to work with other aspirants and members who were dissatisfied with the outcome of the party’s governorship primary.

Adagunodo said the reconciliation efforts were aimed at presenting a united PDP ahead of the September 2018 governorship election.
