‘Your Fond Memories Still Very Fresh’ — PDCL Boss Sola Omotoso Remembers Mum Seven Years After

Seven years after the death of his mother, Chairman of Pleasant Design Concept Limited (PDCL), Arch. Sola Omotoso, MNIA, has continued to cherish the memories of the woman he described as a loving mother, confidante and best friend.

Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Dada Omotoso, JP (née Alle), died in August 2017 at the age of 69.

Reflecting on her death seven years later, Omotoso said the memories of his mother remained fresh, adding that he still found it difficult to come to terms with her absence.

The Usi-Ekiti-born architect shared his thoughts in an emotional tribute posted on his Facebook page to mark the anniversary of his mother’s passing.

In the tribute, Omotoso recalled the close bond they shared and the lasting impact of her love, guidance and wisdom on his life.
He wrote:
“Dear Mother, seven years have passed since you left us, but the pain of your departure still feels like yesterday.

“It’s hard to accept that you’re no longer with us, and with each passing day, I miss you more. You were the best mother in the whole world — caring, loving, welcoming and warm. Your presence lit up our lives, and your absence has left a void that can never be filled.

“You were more than just a mother to me; you were my best friend, my gist partner, my confidant and my go-to person for advice and fun. I cherish the memories of our laughter, our late-night conversations and our jokes.

“You had a way of making everyone feel loved and valued, and I’m so grateful to have had you in my life.
“Your kindness, generosity and selflessness inspired me to become a better person. Your guidance and wisdom helped shape me into who I am today.

“I miss our daily chats, our silly fights and our deep conversations. I miss everything about you, and I wish you were still here with me.

“Though you’re no longer physically present, your memory lives on in my heart. I’ll continue to celebrate your life and legacy, and I’ll never heal from the pain of your departure.

“But I take comfort in knowing that you’re resting in the bosom of our Creator, watching over me with love and pride.

“Rest on, dear Mother. I love you now and forever.”
