PDCL CEO Sola Omotoso Celebrates Mum’s 78th Birthday Posthumously With Emotional Tribute

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pleasant Design Concept Limited (PDCL), Arc. Sola Omotoso, MNIA, has paid an emotional tribute to his late mother, Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Dada Omotoso, as he marked what would have been her 78th birthday.

Omotoso, who shared the tribute on Monday, reflected on his mother’s life, values and enduring influence, describing her as a woman whose love, faith and compassion continued to shape the lives of those she left behind.

In a heartfelt message shared on his WhatsApp status, the PDCL chief executive described his late mother as his “Gold in Heaven” and recalled the cherished memories they shared.

“Happy birthday to my Gold in Heaven! Today marks what would have been your 78th birthday, and my heart returns once again to the priceless memories of you, my dearest mother, Chief Elizabeth Dada Omotoso JP,” he wrote.

Reflecting on her character and the values she represented, Omotoso described his mother as a strong and selfless woman who devoted herself to the wellbeing of others.

“I woke up today wrapped in thoughts of a woman whose life was a gift to everyone she encountered. A mother who lived by her convictions, who gave herself selflessly to the wellbeing of all, and whose love knew no bounds,” he stated.

According to him, his mother was “grace personified, firm in faith, rich in compassion, and generous in spirit.”

He acknowledged that the occasion came with mixed emotions, as the birthday would ordinarily have been an opportunity for family and friends to celebrate her life with joy and thanksgiving.

“This day carries a deeper ache because it should have been a celebration of long life, marked with joy, drums, laughter, and thanksgiving. Instead, it reminds me of your absence and the silence your departure left behind,” he wrote.

Despite the pain of her absence, Omotoso said he found comfort in reflecting on the life she lived and the positive impact she had on those around her.

“Yet, even in the pain of missing you, I find comfort and joy in the life you lived. A glorious life filled with selflessness, affection, warmth, and unwavering love.

Your legacy lives on in the lives you touched and in the values you instilled in us,” he added.

He further expressed his belief that his mother was resting peacefully with her Creator, whom he said she served faithfully throughout her lifetime.

“I am at peace knowing that you are resting in the bosom of your Creator, whom you served faithfully and worshipped with your whole heart throughout your lifetime,” Omotoso wrote.

He ended the tribute with a poignant message to his late mother: “Sleep on, my sweet mother. Happy 78th birthday in heaven. You are dearly missed and forever loved.”

Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Dada Omotoso, née Allen, who was the Akorewolu of Usi-Ekiti, died in 2017 at the age of 69.

Her passing left behind family, friends and associates who remembered her for her devotion to family, faith and service to others. Her memory, however, continues to live on through the family and the values she passed on to her children.
