Photos: Family, Associates Gather in Oluyole for Abiola Ajimobi’s Sixth-Year Fidau Prayer


Family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers on Thursday converged on Oluyole, Ibadan, for the sixth-year Fidau prayer held in memory of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

The solemn gathering featured prayers for the repose of the late statesman’s soul, with attendees reflecting on his life, leadership and lasting contributions to Oyo State and Nigeria.

Speaking after the prayer session, the former First Lady of Oyo State and the Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria, Chief (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, expressed heartfelt appreciation to everyone who attended the remembrance, describing their presence, prayers and unwavering support as deeply comforting to the family.

She thanked the guests for taking time to honour the memory of her late husband, noting that their continued solidarity over the years remains a source of strength.

Mrs. Ajimobi also offered prayers for the departed former governor, asking Almighty Allah to grant him Aljanah Firdaus, while praying for peace, good health and abundant blessings for all those who continue to stand by the family.

The annual Fidau prayer remains a significant occasion for family, friends and admirers to celebrate Senator Ajimobi’s life and preserve the values and legacy he left behind.
