Late Osi Balogun of Ibadanland Oba Isioye-Dada to Be Buried August 27–28


The Olubadan Advisory Council has approved the final burial arrangements for the late Oba John Olubunmi Isioye-Dada, following the presentation of the burial programme by members of the deceased’s family.

Approval was granted during the Council’s meeting held on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.

A press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, disclosed that the decision followed deliberations at the meeting and formally endorsed the burial schedule submitted by the family.

According to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I), the burial ceremonies for the late traditional ruler will be held on August 27 and 28, 2026, at the deceased’s residence in Bodija, Ibadan.

Until his passing on June 12, 2026, Oba Isioye was the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, one of the prominent members of the Olubadan traditional hierarchy.

He was widely regarded as an active, committed and dedicated member of the Olubadan-in-Council, contributing significantly to the administration and preservation of the customs and traditions of Ibadanland.

The Olubadan Advisory Council paid tribute to the late chief’s unwavering service and dedication, praying that his soul continues to rest in perfect peace.
