Chief Wole Arisekola, Mogaji of the Ajenigieye Family of Yemetu-Oje, Ibadan, has paid glowing tribute to the late Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Raufu Yusuf Delesolu, describing his death as a profound loss to Ibadan’s traditional institution and the wider community.
In a condolence message issued on behalf of the Ajenigieye Dynasty, Arisekola extolled the late traditional chief as a distinguished patriarch of the Delesolu Dynasty whose life was marked by exemplary leadership, mentorship and an unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Ibadanland.
He said Chief Delesolu’s death has left a vacuum that would be difficult to fill, noting that the late Ikolaba Olubadan played a significant role in community leadership while serving as a custodian of the city’s cherished traditions and values.

Arisekola, publisher of Street Journal, also recalled the long-standing cordial relationship between the Ajenigieye and Delesolu dynasties, describing the demise of the revered Mogaji and traditional leader as a painful loss not only to his immediate family but also to the Ajenigieye Dynasty.
While commiserating with the bereaved family, he prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljanah Firdaus, and give his loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
He also expressed hope that the enduring bond of friendship and mutual respect shared by the Delesolu and Ajenigieye dynasties would continue to flourish despite the passing of the revered Ibadan patriarch.
