Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have secured a major commercial boost ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, with indigenous energy company BOVAS Group coming on board as the club’s official sleeve sponsor in a five-year partnership.
The partnership was unveiled in Ibadan on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, as part of a broader sponsorship and commercial unveiling by the Oluyole Warriors ahead of a season that will see the club compete on both domestic and continental fronts.
Under the agreement, BOVAS branding will appear on the sleeves of Shooting Stars’ official playing jerseys throughout the 2026/27 campaign, giving the company a prominent presence around one of Nigeria’s most historic football clubs.
A statement from Shooting Stars’ official social media platforms described BOVAS as the club’s “Official Sleeve Sponsor” for the 2026/27 season, signalling a new commercial chapter for both organisations.
Speaking at the unveiling, BOVAS Group’s Head of Engineering and Projects, Engineer Tolulope Ayediran, said the company was excited to associate with Shooting Stars, describing 3SC as a club that represents both Ibadan and Nigeria.
Ayediran explained that the partnership was driven by a strong connection between the identities of the two organisations, noting that while Shooting Stars is deeply rooted in Ibadan’s sporting heritage, BOVAS also has its headquarters in the city.
“We are very excited to be part of this particular club,” Ayediran said, adding that BOVAS had examined the club’s trajectory and its “intersection” with the company before deciding to come on board.
Importantly, he disclosed that the arrangement is not a short-term sponsorship but a five-year deal, promising sustained collaboration, greater visibility and wider impact throughout the partnership.
For Shooting Stars, the development comes at a particularly significant moment. The club finished among the top three in the 2025/26 NPFL season, securing a return to continental football after more than two decades.
Its qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup has consequently raised expectations around the Oluyole Warriors as they prepare for a more demanding 2026/27 campaign.
BOVAS is joining a strengthened commercial structure around the club. Chowdeck has been unveiled as the principal partner and front-of-shirt sponsor, while Streamline is the hydration partner for the new season.
Shooting Stars chairman, Taiwo Lekan Salami, said the new partnerships were part of deliberate efforts to strengthen the club both on and off the pitch.
“We are determined to build a stronger and more competitive Shooting Stars team ahead of the new season,” Salami said, stressing the club’s ambition to improve on its previous NPFL performance and compete effectively in continental football.
For BOVAS, the alliance also represents an opportunity to deepen its connection with a city where the company has built its corporate identity.
BOVAS, headquartered in Ibadan, is a Nigerian energy company with operations spanning oil and gas, bulk storage, lubricants, LPG, CNG, aviation and retail service stations. Founded in 1980, the company has grown into a major player in Nigeria’s energy sector.
That shared Ibadan identity could make the partnership particularly significant beyond conventional shirt advertising, especially with Shooting Stars preparing to represent the city and Nigeria on the continental stage.
The commercial unveiling also coincides with the club’s preparations for the opening of the new NPFL season. Shooting Stars are scheduled to begin their league campaign on Friday, August 28, against newly promoted Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.
Their continental assignment will follow soon after, with the Oluyole Warriors set to face Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup, beginning with a first-leg fixture in Abeokuta on September 5 before the return encounter on September 13.
With a historic club chasing trophies, continental relevance and a stronger commercial footing, and an Ibadan-based energy brand seeking deeper community visibility, the BOVAS-3SC alliance arrives as more than a jersey deal.
It is a five-year bet on the renewed commercial and sporting ambitions of one of Nigeria’s most iconic football institutions.
