An emerging political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections received another boost in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State as representatives of members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) paid a visit to former Deputy Governor of the state, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja.
Arapaja disclosed the development in a statement following the visit to his residence, describing the meeting as part of ongoing consultations towards a new political alignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the APM delegation expressed its readiness to work closely with Team Arapaja in Akinyele and collaborate with the group in the movement towards the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Members of the delegation included Hon. Olukunmi Osuntoki, popularly known as Kunmi Gas; Alhaji Wasiu Omonije; Hon. Adebayo Okekunle; Mr. Ibrahim Sulaimon; and Mr. Lamidi Taofeek.
They were led to Arapaja’s residence by the Team Arapaja Coordinator for Akinyele, Hon. Lawal Rahamon Adewale.
The development comes amid increased political consultations and mobilisation across Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.

Arapaja has in recent weeks intensified his efforts to mobilise support for APC candidates, including Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the party’s governorship candidate.

The party presented its Akinyele/Lagelu House of Representatives candidate as well as candidates for Akinyele I and Akinyele II in the State Assembly.
Arapaja said the latest engagement was another indication, in his view, that political realignment was gathering momentum across the state.
He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening grassroots structures and mobilising support for APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections, with Akinyele emerging as another area of focus in the unfolding political consultations.
