IWA Sets October 8 For Ifayemi Elebuibon Annual Symposium In Osogbo

The Isese Welfare Association (IWA), also known as Isese Assembly, has announced the second edition of its Ifáyẹmí Ẹlẹ́bùìbon Annual Symposium, scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Osogbo, Osun State.

The symposium, tagged IFAS 2026, will be held in honour of High Chief Ifayemi Ayinde Elebuibon, the Àràbà Awo of Osogbo, with organisers positioning the gathering as an opportunity to reflect on his contributions to Ifá knowledge, traditional spirituality and Yoruba cultural heritage.

With the theme, “Answering Divine Calling in a Rapidly Evolving World: Lessons From Ifayemi Elebuibon,” the event is expected to bring together traditionalists, Ifá practitioners, cultural custodians, scholars and other enthusiasts for discussions centred on divine calling, indigenous knowledge and the relevance of Yoruba spirituality in contemporary society.

According to the programme details, the symposium will feature three prominent speakers, including High Chief Ifálérè Ọ̀dẹ̀gbẹ́mí Ọ̀dẹ̀gbólá II, Àràbà Awo of Ibadan Land; Olóyè (Olúwo) Onífádé Àmólé Ogundele (Abẹ́rẹ́-Ifá), Ojùbọǹa Ilẹ̀ Ẹ̀gbá; and Olúwo Akọ́mọlàfẹ́ Wandé, Lead Instructor at Ọ̀nà̀dò School of Ifá Studies, Akure.

The gathering will take place at Àbẹ̀jẹ́ Agbò Multipurpose Hall, Ààfin Ogbèyọ̀nú, 13, Ẹlẹ́bùìbọn Street, Pepsi Cola Area, Ayetoro, Osogbo, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Beyond the academic and spiritual conversations expected at the symposium, the choice of Elebuibon as the focus of the 2026 edition places emphasis on the preservation, transmission and contemporary relevance of indigenous Yoruba knowledge.

The programme is being organised under the leadership of Adérẹ̀mí Ifáolèèpin Adérẹ̀mí, National Coordinator, Isese Welfare Association (IWA), aka Isese Assembly, who is listed as the Chief Organiser.

The second edition is expected to further provide a platform for conversations on the place of traditional knowledge in a rapidly changing world, while celebrating the life, teachings and enduring cultural influence of one of Osogbo’s prominent Ifá figures.
