Funke Akindele Misses Kamo State ‘Star Lomo’ Premiere — What Really Happened?

By Segun Adebayo

Funke Akindele was noticeably absent from the premiere of Kamo State’s much-anticipated movie, Star Lomo, an absence that has sparked curiosity among fans and followers of the two entertainers.

The actress was reportedly out of the country around the time of the premiere, which could explain why she was unable to attend the event.

Her absence, however, has attracted attention largely because of the warm relationship she has shared with Kamo State over the years.

Akindele has supported the comedian at different stages of his career, while Kamo State has also continued to build a strong presence in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

There is no confirmed indication of any disagreement between the two entertainers, and neither has publicly suggested that their relationship has changed.

For now, the circumstances surrounding Akindele’s absence remain a matter of timing and personal commitments rather than anything that can be linked to a confirmed fallout.

Meanwhile, Star Lomo represents another significant step in Kamo State’s evolution from skit maker to filmmaker and movie actor.

His transition into longer-form storytelling has continued to attract attention, with the new project offering him another opportunity to establish himself beyond the short comedy skits that initially brought him into the spotlight.

Akindele, on her part, is also focused on her own projects, including The Four, as she continues to expand her footprint as an actress, producer and filmmaker.

Whether her absence from the Star Lomo premiere was simply a matter of travel and scheduling or the result of other commitments, there is currently no public evidence to suggest anything more.

For now, both entertainers appear to be charting their individual paths, with Kamo State pushing further into cinema and Akindele continuing with her established film projects.

Time, perhaps, will reveal whether there is anything more to the much-discussed absence.
