MC Oluomo, Tafa Sego, Koko Zaria Reunite As K1 Brokers Fresh Peace Deal At Ojusagbola

A fresh chapter appears to have opened in the long-running relationship between prominent Lagos transport union figures Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, Mustapha Adekunle, better known as Tafa Sego, and Ganiyu Ayinde Oyedepo, popularly called Koko Zaria, following a peace meeting brokered by Fuji icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, K1 De Ultimate.

The reconciliation meeting took place at Ojusagbola, a venue closely associated with K1 in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, bringing together the prominent figures and their respective loyalists in an atmosphere focused on friendship, unity and the resolution of lingering differences.

At the centre of the gathering was K1, who stepped beyond his identity as one of Nigeria’s biggest Fuji musicians to play the role of mediator between men whose names have for years been closely associated with the Lagos transport-union establishment and social circles.

MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego were once regarded as close associates within the Lagos branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW. Sego served as treasurer during Oluomo’s leadership and was later positioned to succeed him as Lagos chairman when Oluomo moved into the national leadership of the union. BusinessDay previously reported that Oluomo had described an earlier disagreement involving himself, Sego and Sulaimon Kudeleti as having been amicably resolved. (Businessday NG)

Their relationship, however, subsequently attracted public attention amid reports and visible signs of tension within the wider union circle. Koko Zaria, meanwhile, has long been identified as one of MC Oluomo’s close associates and a significant figure within the Lagos transport-union network. (City People Magazine)

Against that background, the Ojusagbola gathering carries significance beyond an ordinary social meeting.

K1 was said to have deliberately brought the sides together with the intention of putting the differences behind them and restoring the bond that existed before the disagreements. Rather than allowing old grievances to continue defining the relationship, the Fuji icon reportedly encouraged the men to embrace reconciliation and move forward.

For K1, the intervention also fits into the traditional symbolism attached to his position as Mayegun of Yorubaland. He was installed into the title by the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, in January 2020, with the title widely associated with peace, cultural responsibility and social harmony. (QED)

The significance of the meeting was heightened by the presence of loyalists and associates around the principal figures. Rather than limiting the reconciliation to a private understanding between the personalities involved, the gathering provided an opportunity for people on the different sides to witness and participate in a new atmosphere of cordiality.

MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego have previously been seen publicly embracing following efforts to end their differences. A video published in April 2026 showed the two men hugging as they publicly settled their fight, indicating that reconciliation efforts had already been underway before the latest Ojusagbola meeting. What makes the latest gathering particularly notable, however, is the reported involvement of K1 in bringing the personalities and their loyalists together at Ojusagbola.

The meeting therefore appears to represent an effort to move beyond public gestures and reinforce the peace on a broader level, especially among the people associated with the different camps.

Ojusagbola itself has previously hosted major gatherings involving K1 and influential personalities. In January 2025, the Ojusagbola Villa in Ijebu-Ode hosted the 8th-day Fidau prayer for K1’s late mother, Alhaja Halima Abike Akeredolu Adesanya Anifowoshe, with MC Oluomo among the prominent guests who attended. That earlier gathering also illustrated the breadth of K1’s social network, drawing politicians, transport-union figures, entertainers, traditional personalities and other members of Nigeria’s social establishment.

This time, however, Ojusagbola became the setting for a different kind of gathering — one centred not on mourning or celebration, but on reconciliation.

For MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego, the development could help restore a relationship that had once been regarded as particularly close within the Lagos transport-union establishment. For their loyalists, it also sends a message that the disagreements between their principals should no longer be allowed to dictate relations at the grassroots.

Both sides are understood to be pleased with the development, with the atmosphere at the meeting reflecting a willingness to put the past behind them.

Koko Zaria’s presence further strengthened the significance of the gathering, given his longstanding association with MC Oluomo and his own prominence within Lagos’ transport-union and social circles. City People had previously identified him as a close and loyal associate of Oluomo and a figure with influence within the Lagos NURTW structure. (City People Magazine)

For observers who have followed the personalities over the years, the latest development is therefore more than another photograph of familiar faces exchanging pleasantries.

It represents another attempt to convert a reconciliation that has previously played out publicly into a stronger and more enduring relationship among the men and the networks around them.

And with K1 taking the lead in bringing the different sides together at Ojusagbola, the message from the gathering is unmistakable: whatever disagreements may have divided MC Oluomo, Tafa Sego, Koko Zaria and their respective loyalists, the door has now been opened for friendship, unity and a fresh beginning.
