Tawa Alli Support Group has further demonstrated its commitment to educational development and child welfare in Oyo State with the distribution of school bags, exercise books and other learning materials to pupils and students who participated in its 2026 free holiday coaching programme in Ibadan.
The initiative, held on Thursday, followed the completion of an intensive summer coaching programme sponsored by the group and its principal, Alhaja Tawa Alli, wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli.
Held at Leaders Root International School, Mokola, Ibadan, the programme provided academic support for pupils from Primary 1 to 6 and students in JSS1 to JSS3 and SS1 to SS3.
It also incorporated practical skills development, with academic lessons held from Mondays to Thursdays and Fridays devoted to skills acquisition.
Beyond the classroom instruction, participants were provided with daily lunch throughout the programme, an intervention described by organisers as an effort to cater not only for the academic needs of the children but also their welfare.
The impact of the initiative was reflected in two separate letters presented to the group by Leaders Root International School, expressing appreciation for the sponsorship of the 2026 Free Holiday Coaching and Lunch Programme.
In its letter dated August 30, the school, through its Coordinator, Akintunde Gbade Abimbola, commended Senator Sharafadeen Alli and his family for making it possible for children across different educational levels to receive free academic coaching and daily meals during the long vacation.
The school noted that the intervention helped keep children engaged in learning rather than allowing the holiday period to become an extended break from academic activities, while also easing some of the pressure on families.
A certificate of appreciation was similarly presented to Senator Alli and his family in recognition of their sponsorship, with the school describing the programme as one that helped take children “from the streets to the classroom” while providing them with both academic lessons and lunch.
Speaking at the distribution programme, Tawa Alli reiterated the commitment of the Tawa Alli Support Group to initiatives that directly improve the lives and prospects of children and young people across the state.
She said education remained a major area of concern for the group, stressing that supporting children at an early stage was an investment in the future of the state.
According to her, the intervention would not end with the distribution of school materials, as the group intends to continue exploring initiatives capable of improving education, strengthening social welfare and creating opportunities for employment and empowerment.
Tawa Alli also linked the group’s interventions to the broader vision of her husband, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, for a greater Oyo State, saying the objective was to contribute meaningfully to the development of human capital and improve the welfare of residents.
The latest initiative adds to the growing activities of the group, which has increasingly positioned education, youth development, welfare and empowerment as important areas of community engagement.
For beneficiaries and their parents, the gesture comes at a particularly important period as families prepare for the resumption of a new academic session amid rising costs of school bags, exercise books and other essential learning materials.
