Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his wife, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde, are set to receive prestigious traditional titles as part of activities marking the first coronation anniversary of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adedayo Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin I.The conferment of the chieftaincy titles, organised by the Ibarapa Traditional Council, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Eleruwa Palace, Eruwa.
Governor Makinde is to be honoured with the title of Aare Soludero, while the Oyo State First Lady, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde, is to receive the title of Yeye Aare Soludero.
The ceremony forms a major part of the activities lined up to commemorate the first anniversary of the coronation of Eleruwa, bringing together traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, dignitaries and other stakeholders.
Oba Adegbola is expected to preside over the historic occasion at his palace.
Beyond the conferment of titles, the event is expected to highlight the enduring relationship between the traditional institution and the government, as well as celebrate the cultural heritage and development aspirations of Eruwa and the wider Ibarapa community.
The choice of the governor and his wife for the traditional honours is expected to further underscore their relationship with the people and traditional institutions of Ibarapa, while recognising their roles in the affairs and development of Oyo State.
The occasion is also expected to be a colourful display of Yoruba traditional culture, royalty and community values.
The conferment of the Aare Soludero and Yeye Aare Soludero titles on the governor and his wife is consequently expected to form one of the high points of the anniversary celebrations.
