Arisekola Reconnects With Alma Mater At St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Supports Pupils With Learning Materials

It was a memorable reunion filled with nostalgia, gratitude and renewed commitment to education on Friday, October 16, 2026, when Chief Bowale Oluwole Arisekola, the Mogaji Ajenigieye, Oje, returned to his alma mater, St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Yemetu, Ibadan, to reconnect with the institution that helped shape his formative years.

The visit, which brought back cherished memories of his childhood and early education, also provided another opportunity for the Ibadan-born businessman, publisher, philanthropist and Mogaji Ajenigieye of Yemetu-Oje to demonstrate his enduring commitment to educational development through his back-to-school initiative.

In a gesture that reflected his belief in giving back to society, Arisekola distributed mathematical sets to Primary Six pupils preparing for their transition to secondary school, while exercise books were provided for them and other pupils across the school.

The intervention was particularly significant for the pupils, whose preparations for their next academic stage will require essential learning materials and adequate support to meet the demands of secondary education.

Interestingly, Arisekola’s visit coincided with an aspect of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Class of 1976, which featured the commissioning of an anniversary project, alongside the presentation of gifts and lunch to the pupils.

The convergence of the two occasions added a special dimension to the gathering, bringing together the values of alumni fellowship, institutional development, philanthropy and investment in the next generation.

For the returning alumnus, the visit was more than a ceremonial homecoming. It represented an opportunity to reconnect with his educational roots while extending practical assistance to children following a path similar to the one he had taken decades earlier.

Arisekola’s back-to-school programme has become a recurring feature of his community-focused interventions, providing schoolchildren with educational materials to ease the financial burden on parents and encourage pupils to remain focused on their studies.

Over the years, his educational support has included the distribution of exercise books and school bags, alongside scholarship assistance for students at different levels of education. His interventions have formed part of a broader philanthropic philosophy centred on youth development, community welfare and the creation of opportunities for young people.

In recent weeks, the Mogaji Wole Arisekola Foundation has also sustained its educational outreach in Ibadan, including the distribution of thousands of exercise books, school bags and mathematical sets as part of preparations for the new academic session.

His return to St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School therefore underscored the continuity of that commitment, extending his support beyond his immediate family compound to an institution closely connected to his personal history.

The visit also served as a reminder of the important role alumni can play in strengthening their former schools, particularly through interventions that improve pupils’ access to basic learning materials and inspire them to pursue their ambitions.

By reconnecting with his alma mater and supporting its pupils, Arisekola demonstrated how personal success can be translated into meaningful contributions to education and community development.

For the pupils who received the materials, the occasion offered not only practical assistance but also an encouraging example of an alumnus returning to support the next generation.

As the Class of 1976 marked five decades of shared history and celebrated its anniversary project, Arisekola’s homecoming added a powerful message to the occasion: the true value of education is reflected not only in personal achievements but also in the willingness to give back and help others succeed.
