The Ifesowapo Multipurpose Trading Association of Nigeria (IMPUTAN) has declared its support for the governorship ambition of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
Members of the association announced their position during a meeting with Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, where they expressed confidence in his experience, leadership capacity and commitment to the development of the state.
Leaders of IMPUTAN said their decision was driven by Alli’s record in public service, accessibility and concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens and business operators.
They described him as a politician with the experience and understanding needed to provide purposeful leadership while creating a more favourable environment for businesses and economic activities to flourish.
Particular emphasis was placed on the welfare of traders, artisans, entrepreneurs and other players in the informal sector. Members noted that these groups remain vital to the state’s economic growth and employment generation.
IMPUTAN pledged to mobilise its members and supporters for Alli’s 2027 campaign, while urging the APC candidate to sustain engagement with grassroots stakeholders and remain attentive to the concerns of the business community.
Responding, Senator Alli thanked the association’s leadership and members for their confidence and show of support.
He assured them that the welfare of traders and other business operators would receive serious attention under his vision for Oyo State.
Alli said sustainable economic development requires policies that promote entrepreneurship, strengthen small and medium-scale businesses, create jobs and provide an enabling environment for investors.
He also called for peaceful political engagement among stakeholders as preparations for the 2027 election gather momentum.
According to him, his governorship ambition is driven by a desire to serve the people and contribute meaningfully to the economic and overall development of Oyo State.
IMPUTAN, at the end of the meeting, reaffirmed its commitment to Alli’s aspiration and promised continued mobilisation and support as the race for the 2027 governorship gathers pace.
