Pelumi Olajengbesi, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat to represent Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, has announced the immediate suspension of all political activities and mobilization connected to his ambition following the killing of one of his supporters, Ajayi “Rogba,” in Esa Oke, Osun State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Olajengbesi said the decision was taken as a mark of respect for the late Rogba, whom he described as “a young, happy and promising man” and one of the foremost supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Expressing deep grief over the incident, the House of Representatives hopeful said no political ambition was worth the loss of a human life, adding that all meetings, campaigns, mobilization efforts and engagements relating to his aspiration had been suspended indefinitely in honour of the deceased.
Olajengbesi alleged that Rogba was killed because of his political beliefs and affiliation with the Accord political movement.

He also accused supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of being responsible for the attack, although those allegations have not been independently verified.
The legal practitioner further alleged that, at the commencement of the Osun State governorship campaign, Hon. Wole Oke had publicly warned that those who were not members of the APC should be prepared to face the consequences of their political choices. According to him, a video containing the alleged remarks exists.
He also claimed that attempts were made to frustrate a political programme scheduled to hold in Esa Oke on Tuesday, insisting that Rogba remained actively involved in mobilising support despite the challenges.
“I am still struggling to come to terms with the reality that a man who was actively involved in preparations for today’s programme is no longer with us,” Olajengbesi said.
He added that, with the suspension of his House of Representatives ambition, he would now concentrate on his responsibilities as Campaign Spokesperson for the re-election bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
Olajengbesi further called for justice over the killing, maintaining that those allegedly involved in the incident would one day be held accountable before the law, history or God.
He also disclosed that Governor Ademola Adeleke had been briefed on the incident and expressed confidence that the state government would not abandon the bereaved family.
He concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of Rogba’s soul.
As of the time of filing this report, there had been no official response from Hon. Wole Oke or the Osun State chapter of the APC regarding the allegations contained in Olajengbesi’s statement.
