EFCC Arrests City Boy Women Leader Halimat Tejuosho Over Alleged Money Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested socialite and suspended South-West Zonal Coordinator of the Women Wing of the City Boy Movement, Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.

Tejuosho was reportedly taken into custody on September 8, with the development coming months after the anti-graft agency declared her wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged fraud.

According to a report by TheCable, EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest on Saturday.

The latest development brings Tejuosho’s dealings with the commission back into the spotlight, following an earlier investigation into allegations that she collected money from individuals by promising to facilitate government appointments and contracts.

In April, the EFCC declared Tejuosho wanted over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.

At the time, the commission identified her as a 41-year-old indigene of Lagos State and listed her last known address as House A26, Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.

She is also identified as the Chief Executive Officer of Haleems Integrated Services Limited and founder of QAT Foundation.

The current investigation is linked to allegations that Tejuosho used purported appointment letters and other documents to convince individuals that she had the capacity to secure federal government appointments and lucrative contracts for them.

The allegations had previously brought her before the EFCC in June 2025, when she was interrogated following complaints against her.

She was subsequently granted administrative bail as investigators continued to examine the allegations.

Her arrest now marks another stage in the investigation, following the commission’s decision to declare her wanted earlier in the year.

The matter also has political implications within the City Boy Movement.

Following the EFCC’s declaration, the movement reportedly suspended Tejuosho from her position as its South-West Zonal Coordinator of the women’s wing.

The EFCC has not, however, established her guilt by the arrest or the ongoing investigation. Any criminal liability would ultimately be determined through due legal process.
