In its invitation letter dated October 20, 2026, and signed by the Oyo NUJ Council Chairman, Akeem Abas, Council Secretary, Temidayo Adu, and Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, the council described Alli’s presence as a special honour, citing her position in the history, culture and development of Ibadanland.
The union expressed confidence that her participation and goodwill would add value and prestige to the anniversary celebration, underscoring the enduring relationship between the media and the wider society.
Alli’s expected presence at the NAWOJ Day ceremony is also significant to the celebration of women and their contributions to public life, community development and the advancement of society.
The programme will bring together journalists and other stakeholders to commemorate the council’s six decades of professional service, celebrate its achievements and consider the future of journalism amid changing media practices and growing digital influence.
