Chief (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi has paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, former Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, marking the sixth anniversary of his passing with an emotional reflection on their enduring love, shared memories and his lasting legacy.
In the moving message posted on her Facebook page on Wednesday, the former First Lady of Oyo State described the late statesman as not only her husband but also her “best friend,” confidant and greatest supporter, saying that although six years have passed since his death, his memory continues to occupy a special place in her heart.
“Six years have passed since you left this world, yet not a day goes by without thoughts of you filling my heart. Time has moved on, but the love, memories and legacy you left behind remain as strong and precious as ever,” she wrote.
Mrs. Ajimobi, the Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria, celebrated the late governor’s remarkable impact on the lives of countless people, recalling his kindness, wisdom and unwavering commitment to serving humanity.
“Six years have passed since you left this world, yet not a day goes by without thoughts of you filling my heart. Time has moved on, but the love, memories and legacy you left behind remain as strong and precious as ever,” she wrote.
Mrs. Ajimobi, the Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria, celebrated the late governor’s remarkable impact on the lives of countless people, recalling his kindness, wisdom and unwavering commitment to serving humanity.
According to her, his legacy of integrity, compassion, excellence and selfless service continues to inspire those who knew him and the many lives he touched.
Reflecting on their years together, she expressed gratitude to God for the privilege of sharing life with him, while acknowledging the deep void created by his absence.
“You were more than a husband; you were my confidant, my greatest supporter and my dearest friend. I miss your laughter, your counsel and your reassuring presence, but I take comfort in knowing that your life was meaningful, purposeful and well-lived,” she stated.
Mrs. Ajimobi noted that although her husband was no longer physically present, his spirit lives on through the values he instilled, the people he influenced and the cherished memories he left behind.
She added that his love continues to guide the family, describing his memory as a lasting blessing.
Concluding the tribute with words of love and hope, she wrote: “Rest on, my beloved husband and dear friend. You are deeply loved, fondly remembered and forever missed.”
She also drew strength from the biblical passage in Proverbs 10:7, which says, “The memory of the righteous is a blessing.”
