President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket and offered his blessings to the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), and his running mate, Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The meeting, which took place in Abuja, brought together some of the party’s most respected leaders, including former Interim National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, and elder statesman and former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who shared details of the visit on his official Facebook page, disclosed that the occasion was marked by the formal presentation of Mrs. Adegunwa-Balogun as Senator Adeola’s running mate to President Tinubu.
Senator Adeola was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Temitope Adeola, while Mrs. Adegunwa-Balogun attended the meeting alongside her husband, Hon. Abdul Razak Balogun.
According to Governor Abiodun, who doubles as APC’s candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District, the visit provided President Tinubu with the opportunity to officially receive the Ogun APC governorship ticket, extend his fatherly blessings to the party’s candidates, and offer valuable guidance as they prepare for the 2027 governorship contest.
Expressing confidence in the APC ticket, Governor Abiodun described Senator Adeola and Mrs. Adegunwa-Balogun as leaders with the vision, competence, and capacity to build on the developmental strides already recorded in Ogun State.
He also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his steadfast support for the APC, noting that the President’s commitment to the progress, stability, and prosperity of Ogun State and Nigeria remains unwavering.
The meeting is widely seen as a significant step in consolidating support for the Ogun APC governorship ticket as preparations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
